“Hiroshima,” a city of history and peace.
Enjoy a memorable sightseeing experience that is both exciting and delicious.
Atomic bomb dome
In December 1996, at the 20th UNESCO World Heritage Committee Merida Conference, it was registered as a World Cultural Heritage site as a building that conveys the devastation of nuclear weapons. The designated area is the area where the Atomic Bomb Dome is located, about 0.39 hectares.
Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum
The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum was opened in 1955 with the aim of communicating the reality of the damage caused by the atomic bomb to people all over the world and contributing to the abolition of nuclear weapons and the realization of permanent world peace, which is the heart of Hiroshima.
Hiroshima castle
Hiroshima Castle was built in 1589 by Terumoto Mori, who is known as one of the five elders of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Today, the inside of the castle tower is a history museum. The structure of Hiroshima Castle and the lifestyle and culture of the castle town of Hiroshima are exhibited with actual materials, models, videos, etc., and the experience corner where you can take a commemorative photo while wearing period costumes such as armored helmets, jinbaori, and kamishimo is also popular.
Orizuru Tower
Located on the east side of the world heritage site “Atomic Bomb Dome”, you can feel the wish and weight of peace through the changes in the current cityscape before and after the bombing. From the observation space on the wooden deck, you can see the two world heritage sites of Hiroshima at the same time, from the Peace Memorial Park and the Atomic Bomb Dome to Misen on Miyajima on a clear day.
OKOSTA
Would you like to experience the fun and deliciousness of making okonomiyaki at home? An okonomiyaki experience studio has opened in a convenient location just a 2-minute walk from JR Hiroshima Station. If you come to Hiroshima for sightseeing, make okonomiyaki and experience it! With good access from sightseeing spots, I hope more people will enjoy the culture of okonomiyaki.
Itsukushima Shrine
With a bold and original layout with the sea as the site, it is one of the most famous companies in Japan that has mastered the essence of Shinden-zukuri in the Heian period. The precincts on the shallow beach are a graceful sight as if they were floating in the sea at high tide. The contrast with the green behind it is also exceptionally beautiful. It was registered as a World Heritage Site in 1996.
